North American Polyglot Symposium in July

July 8, 2016

Are you ready to learn a new language? On July 23rd and 24th, the North American Polyglot Symposium (NAPS) will be held at the Downtown Campus of Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is a chance for those who speak multiple languages to meet up and share their passion for multi-lingual communications. This is the first time that Montreal will host polyglots from around the world. The event will be at the Sir George Williams Campus at 1455 De Maisonneuve Boulevard West. Click to see map for the downtown campus area.

If you've always wanted to become fluent in multiple languages, you can visit italki.com. As one of the event sponsors, italki.com is an online source to connect with more 1,000 teachers and over 2,000 tutors to get 1-on-1 lessons with native language instructors. You can also connect with other polyglots at an international level by joining their online community of more than 2 million language learners. While visiting the site, you can browse thousands of profiles of linguistic professionals and read reviews from more than 1.5 million students. With an italki.com teacher, you get personal attention and customized lessons to get you speaking from Day One. Plus, there's no need to travel as you can learn from the comfort of your home. Special discounts are available for first time students.

Several internationally recognized polyglots have been confirmed as event speakers for the mid-summer gathering. Among the keynote speakers are Irish Polyglot Benny Lewis. Although the full-time globe trotter only spoke one language (English) when he finished college, his passion has led to fluency in seven languages and conversational confidence in four others. Linguist Steve Kaufmann will also be presenting. Although he too struggled with learning languages early on, Steve now speaks 10 languages fluently and spends his time teaching others in the online world. Also scheduled as an event speaker, is Frenchman Jean-Benoit Nadeau who along with Julie Barlow has authored many lively and informative best-selling language books for various cultures.

Tickets for the North American Polyglot Symposium are available online from $0 to $99 (student discounts available where applicable). Don't miss this chance to meet with polyglots from all over the world to share your passion for language learning. The event runs from Saturday, 23 July 2016 at 8:00 AM through Sunday 24 July 2016 at 5:00 PM. You can receive a discount on 1-day or 2-day passes by registering early. Event sponsors include italki, AIESEO, John Molson School of Business, lingQ and Montecristi Golf Club and Villas in Manta, Ecuador.
